Ubuntu has been built to be easy to use and holds a 6 month release schedule (based on Debian). LinuxMint is designed to be familiar to Windows users, and aims to be easy to use and provide good support for media options (based on Debian). openSuSE is the open source version of SuSE, one of the original Linux distributions.
